The battle with Vecna continues! A powerful and slippery foe, the party is struggling to bring the arch lich down.
Vecna drives his sword through the Hand of Vecna, still grafted to Sugar's arm, trying to take back what was his. Sugar pleads with the Hand to remain bound to her. And it does, barely.
The bone piles are feeding Vecna's ritual and may be healing him, so we attempt to destory them. However they're extremely resilient and most attacks do nothing. Gnarls plays the most epic guitar solo Pandemonium has ever heard, and a Bigby's Hand of living rock rises and flattens the biggest pile.
The ritual's focus appears to be the Book of Vile Darkness. Sugar seals it in an Otiluke's Resilient Sphere and shoves it into a void swirling between dimemsions. While the book is unharmed, her hand follows it in, and comes back a tentacle.
Fell lands a devastating shot, to which Vecna reliates with a touch of death from behind. Fell survives on the edge of death! Sugar slams Vecna with arrows, Gnarls with spells, Bigby's Hand grabs and crushes, Jain hacks and parries! At last, Jain lines up the killing blow and remembers, just in time, that only the Chimes of Unmaking can finish him. She rings them, and Vecna is banished, powerless.
With Vecna gone, one void between dimensions is left open. Sugar jumps in and becomes something none of us can describe. Fell jumps in after her. Friendship and spaghettification eternal.
The great task is finally done, and the multiverse is saved. Gnarls and Jain pledge to take the Book of Vile Darkness somewhere it can do no more harm.
