Deep in the northern forests, many strange and mysterious creatures may be encountered but perhaps none more awe inspiring than the sentient trees and mushrooms known colloquially as the spore & the leaf. Guardians of the deep forest and paths to the under dark and shallower places, these beings communicate among roots and spore to the detriment of short lived adventures. Woe to those who fail to appreciate the need to tread most lightly in respect to older, wiser and - dare it be said -superior life.
The most seen of these entities is an enormous 50’ tall Oak like tree with the white spots and red cap of a fairy house mushroom. They are known as Frondgill the impatient. A fierce and volatile creature, the local trappers and hunters have had their ranks thinned by its dread ambushes to such an extent that naught but the most desperate will risk the paths to the deep ways.
