Cliff Notes
Chet dan Gorst
Variant-Human Wizard, Sage Researcher, Noble Background
Traits:
-
Obsessed with learning spells, examining magical items and artifacts
-
He’s so obsessed with magic in all its forms that he took the Magic Initiate feat to learn Druid spells (Goodberry, Guidance, Mending)
-
He loves combat magic but is also practical and learned Good Berry to be able to skip meals to focus on his studies, Mage Hand to get stuff without getting up, Light to avoid constantly running out of candles, and Mending to keep up the only outfit he ever wants to wear (an old-school wizard outfit)
-
His Arcane Tradition is the School of Conjuration and one of his habits is to conjure a handy item and pretend to pull it out from inside of his robes
-
He comes from a noble family and has expensive tastes but also a tenuous understanding of finances
-
He’s generally a friendly college partyer, but also a snob
-
He’s fond of eccentrics and odd-balls and is fearless socially
-
As a pure wizard with a 10 CON and very low HP, he’s a coward in combat and hides/cowers as much as possible
-
He has a bat familiar that lives under his wizard hat and is about as lazy as Chet
Prized Possessions:
-
Sabine’s Phallus - An onyx phallus stolen from the college’s Dean of Students, Sabine the Witch. Chet converted it into an Arcane Focus and treasures it above all other worldly possessions. Sabine the Witch knows who stole it and is probably planning retribution, if she can find Chet, who’s currently on the run
-
Jeweled Skull Paperweight - A grapefruit-sized metal paperweight in the likeness of a human skull, bedazzled with cheap rhinestones. Given to all fraternity members as a memento on their acceptance into the Fraternal Order of the Jeweled Skull. Chet likes to conjure imitations and then use the Catapult spell to hit enemy with it by throwing it up in the air and swinging at it with an imaginary bat
-
Hat of Wizardry - Stolen from his noble family’s private collection of magic items, Chet pampers this old-school conical hat with utmost care and constant Mending. This common, wondrous item lets him attempt to cast any wizard cantrip once per long rest
Long-Term Goals:
-
Chet is obsessed with arcane lore and finding spells to learn and would happily spend his time tracking down artifacts and rare knowledge
-
He wants to build a reputation as a combat mage, but knows deeply how fragile he is
-
Chet is undecided about returning to college and his family, especially if he has to relinquish his prized possession in order to be forgiven
-
Chet isn’t much of a long-term planner and spends money frivolously
